Review of Provost, VP Academic

To members of the University community:

Dr. Maureen Mancuso will be completing her first term as provost and vice-president (academic) Feb. 28, 2009, and has expressed interest in being reappointed for a second term.

In accordance with the University of Guelph's Faculty Policy (Section L, Part 7), a review of Mancuso’s first term is being conducted under the direction of a review committee, which includes the following members:

Alastair Summerlee, president and vice-chancellor (chair)
Alun Joseph, dean, College of Social and Applied Human Sciences
Neil MacLusky, professor and chair, Department of Biomedical Sciences
Stephen Lynch, professor and interim director, School of Hospitality and Tourism Management
Catharine Wilson, professor, Department of History
Dave Heppenstall, undergraduate student, College of Physical and Engineering Science
Icy D’Silva, graduate student, Ontario Agricultural College
Peter Landoni, associate registrar, Office of Registrarial Services
Kathy Bardswick, member of Board of Governors.

The University community is invited to give input and feedback on Mancuso’s role as provost and vice-president (academic). In particular, the review committee is interested in receiving feedback related to the following characteristics:

- Academic leadership, including academic planning
- Fostering academic excellence
- Encouraging academic innovation
- Budget planning
- Management and communication abilities
- Overall leadership style,

The committee would like to receive your comments either in writing or by e-mail. Comments must be sent before March 25 and can be e-mailed to president@uoguelph.ca. Please be assured that your comments will be maintained in strict confidence.
